In this magnificent/crazy/ever-changing digital space, there seems to be a resounding thought: content is king.Got it. Understand it. But really, that’s not enough.
The follow-through, the creation of the content, is essential.
{I know, I know that goes without saying, but let me bridge this…}
The only way this content will be “king” is if it has the necessary elements. These four elements make up what I like to call POUF:
Personality
Originality
Usefulness
Focus
Without these four things, content can become stale, boring, not fun. What does that ultimately mean? No one will like it, share it, comment it, reference it. No one will remember it. No one will remember you.It will only exist as some other piece of something on the Internet. If you are looking for the silver lining of creating bland crap, just remember it will be in good company. There are millions of other creations just like that one…
It’s really quite a shame, especially if you are going to take the time to create content.
So the next time you are getting ready to create the next big thing, remember to use these four little gems to ensure your content can stand out and begin working for you.
Happy Creating 🙂
P.S. I love poufs…it wasn’t a coincidence. Here are a few of my faves from West Elm.
