We all experience it. Whether it creeps up on us unexpectedly or we can pin point the day and time of the occurrence, it happens and we can’t escape it. And the holidays are no exception.
I’m talking about stress. I started thinking about the ways I cope with stress, what ways others have told me about how they cope with stress and then also what I do before and after a stress episode happens. I know – it’s possible that I overthink. But, friends, that is exactly my problem. I overthink. It’s this overthinking that causes me to overexert myself in several ways that triggers the stress. In the end, I’m a total stress ball. I’m not fun to be around and definitely don’t want to be around you, as sad as that may sound. However, as I’m starting to recognize the strong pattern and how I’m starting to come out of another stressful place, I wanted to start a new {and fun} way of handling my stressful clouds. Introducing: hide and seek kisses.
Whenever stress comes in, it not only effects us, but it could put a small burden on those lovely family and friends that stick around to hear us talk through our stress. Gross. But in the end, they stick by us. KUDOS to them. And really, this activity is as much for them as it is a small stress reliever. It’s a day-brightener for all parties. I introduce to you …
Hide and Seek Kisses
Step 1: Get white napkins
Step 2: Get awesome lipstick {dudes, you can do this, too – why not, have fun!}
Step 3: Hide the “kisses” where your family or friends may come across them at some point in the next day or so, preferably when you are around, but if not, you owe them!
Step 4: When they discover this napkin with a crazy lip stain, and they ask you what’s up, let them know they found a kiss!
Step 5: Pucker up! Lay a big one on them. Or give them a hug. Or a handshake. Or just a thank you – take the time to share with them how thankful you are to have them in your life.
I just hid three … we will see how long it takes for my hubs and Mads to locate them. Let the little adventure begin!!
xoxo
