Our little girl is a lover of making. Not a day goes by where she isn’t coloring a page, making a card or drawing with chalk. She adores color. So, when I noticed a few paint recipes floating around Pinterest, I started doing a little research on what we could do at home. Anything new that we can add to the mix is great. Add in the fact that this recipe is EASY just adds to my motherly joy.

The recipe we used is here. I followed the recipe pretty closely, however I used old ice cube trays instead of cupcake tins. The trays worked great, and the paint lasted a long time! diy-watercolors

I varied the amount of drops of food coloring in each square, and the above photo is what the paint looks like as it’s drying. The below photo is when the paint is dry. We added a few drops of water to the dry paint, and we were good to go!watercolor-diy watercolor DIY watercolor doodles watercolor painting in kitchen

Gushing over here…her concentration kills me! Love it.watercolor painting

I consider this DIY a success. Mads had a great time! It’s one we may try again, and next time, I may try to make different colors. I definitely recommend it, so let me know if you give it a try!watercolor painting
