I started investing a little more effort into my Instagram game by testing out new cameras and editing apps. But before we get too deep into this discussion, I need to say something before you even start searching for apps: there are a ton! And a lot of them are just F I L L E D with ads. Even the digital marketing side of me is sad to admit that these ads go over the top. Too many ads just ruin the user experience and actually encourage me to delete the app. So that’s what I did. I downloaded and deleted quite a few.
I learned from my trial + errors.
So what is the one most important thing you can do when looking for new ways to edit those Instagram pictures?
Wait for it…
It’s pretty simple, really. Just ask.
What do some of your friends//favorite bloggers//fellow Instagramers like to use to edit photos? I asked a few of my favorite Instagram ladies and here is a quick + dirty rundown of what they use to edit those lovely pictures::
Diana from Our City Lights
// brighten + sharpen on iPhone
Lindsay from Pinch of Yum
// VSCOcam
Sasha from From the Left Field
// Snapseed, Afterlight, Little Moments App
Megan from DolceAve Jewelry
// PicFX, VSCOcam, PicTapGo, Afterlight

As for me, I’m a fan of using my iPhone camera and then taking it to VSCOcam for the editing. I rarely use the tools within Instagram. I’m excited to check out a few new apps, specifically Snapseed and Afterlight.
What applications do you use? Did I miss a good one? Share in comments! xo

September 17, 2014I’ve never tried using an app outside of Instagram… I’m going to have to check out your recommendation.
I really dislike lots of ads in apps too. Super annoying.
Thanks so much for sharing.
Wishing you a lovely day.
