Mother's Day Weekend Rewind

Why do the days just fly by? So unfair. My girl needs more cuddles, my bubbs needs more kisses, my family needs more phone calls, my friends need more “us”. S L O W D O W N.

Just me? No? Good.

Although the days and months and years seem to fly by, there is no shortage of love, understanding and appreciation. Mother’s Day weekend was no exception. As a daughter, granddaughter and mom, the day was filled, to say the very least. My bubbs made sure the days leading up to the holiday were celebrated for our little tribe, and on Mother’s Day, everyone worked hard to make the day memorable for the matriarchs of our family.

I decided to recap just a few of my favorite things from those days … and hopefully you can enjoy, too.

P I Z Z A :: We made amazing pizza with a super quick pizza dough recipe. Basil + mozzarella + tomatoes. It doesn’t get any better … unless your bubbs or Madeline … then it gets better with lots of sausage.

M U S I C :: A trip to the record store is always productive, even if I only found one record on my list. Bonus: it was Madeline’s first time in the store. Heart-eyes big time. She enjoyed running down the aisles and hiding between shelves. It was so incredibly worth it, especially when my girl woke up the next morning and the first words out of her mouth were, “Mom, put a record on.” Done and done, little miss.

D I Y :: Mother’s Day weekend wouldn’t really be complete without a few blooms and crafts, would it? In this house, I guess it’s just standard practice. We made friendship bracelets and flowers out of pipe cleaners. This photo was my inspiration for the flowers.

D A U G H T E R :: She’s the best. Stealer of hearts and green peppers, I wouldn’t change this crazy threenager for anything. Her dad and I will keep her.
