This weekend, we selected that most important of Christmas symbols, as Clark Griswold would say.
Love visiting the trees at Ted Drewes Frozen Custard. A tradition from my childhood and one I hope to continue with my new little family, the trees here are so wonderfully awesome. I just love the smell, the rows and rows of trees, and of course, the whole idea of visiting a place that serves some of the best frozen custard in St. Louis… or anywhere. Maybe I’m bias.Whatever.
Anywhooo, my sweets and I trekked out to find the one that just yelled, “Pick me! I want to be in YOUR home and showcase all of those LED lights and bajillion Barbie ornaments and random hand-made goodness.” And this little, plump sucker certainly said “Hello!”
I spied it with my little eye about 15 minutes into the trip, and after giving those other trees a chance, I came back to this tree that just seemed to be “the one.” Silly, yes. But we take this holiday rather seriously in this household 🙂
After getting this guy home and in the stand to rest for a moment and have a drink, we celebrated by a great cup of hot cocoa. Malted milk chocolate from Target’s Archer Farms brand is fantastic and highly recommended!
So, I’m curious to know – do you prefer the real deal or artificial trees? Favorite decoration? Let’s chat! 🙂

December 9, 2013I think at some point, we’ll try a real tree, but only when we have a home big and beautiful enough. Otherwise, I’m down with plastic, and even alternative trees (like, not a real tree at all, but branches on the wall in the shape of a tree, still with ornaments). Maybe I’m missing a big check mark on the Christmas list, but I tend to like all the other decorations way more!

December 9, 2013How can you be missing a big checkmark on that list? Definitely not. Real-plastic-abstract-paper-wire, whatever! A tree is a tree. 🙂 And the more decorations, the merrier!
