Although I’m not a “music maven” or a loyal follower of specific bands, I still enjoy everything that music provides. I mean, I listen to music all day, every day. I can’t escape the musical styling of Adele, Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra, Miranda Lambert, and Lorde…just to name a few. And I don’t go a week without listening to the Pitch Perfect soundtrack. It is what it is. I can’t and I won’t help myself – I love my random selections.
Could I survive without it? Sure. Would life be as entertaining? No. Definitely not.
I started thinking about the type of music and songs I listen to – the ones I tend to gravitate to for those moments I’m feeling down/excited/determined/ready to kick some butt. I decided to share with you a few of my favorites – my anthems – for those specific moments in my life.

Running Anthem
Whitesnake – Here I Go Again
I know once I hear this song during a run, I will finish strong and push through any/all walls that might stand in the way. I don’t listen to it on repeat. I let it happen organically and it’s when that happens that I have the best runs.
Excel Doc Overload Anthem
Phillip Phillips – Gone, Gone, Gone
It’s a great, up-beat song. It’s an eerie coincidence that it talks about not being alone and how he will always be there…like Excel. Whether you hate it or love it, Excel will always be there for digital marketers…(*Here are some helpful Excel hints!)
End of the Day/Getting Through Final Tasks Anthem
Pitch Perfect Soundtrack – Bellas at the Finals
We’ve all been there – the day is winding down but we still have time to burn. There are a few more tasks to cross off that to-do list. To get that final wind for the workday, this is my go-to!
Sparking Great Memories Anthem
Something Corporate – I Woke Up in a Car
If I’m looking for a quick flashback to college and late high school, Something Corporate starts up and I’m flooded with great memories.
“Pick Me Up” Anthem
David Guetta featuring Sia
Speaks for itself 🙂
